I was born in Chicago, Illinois and there received my elementary
and secondary education. My first two years of college were at Waldorf
College, Forest City, Iowa. I then attended Augsburg College in
Minneapolis, Minnesota, graduating with a degree in elementary education.
I taught for 7 years in public schools and after taking a break
to raise my young children I returned to teaching – this time
at the pre-school level. I have continued to teach pre-school for
now 23 years, with the last 11 of these years as Director of the
ALC Pre-Kindergarten program.. I have been blessed that these past
11 years to have been with teachers Michelle Cavan and Roxy Lee.
Roxy will be retiring this spring (2007). I am grateful to her for
all of her years of service to our ALC Pre-K. Amy Hawkins has been
hired to replace Roxy this fall. We look forward to her contributions
to our program. Our goal at ALC Pre-K is to provide a nurturing
and loving environment so that the children's first school experience
is a very positive one.
My husband Cliff and I have two grown children Erik and Kirsten. We have been members of ALC since 1995 and have been greatly blessed by this congregation.
